The Konjac plant (Amorphophallus konjac) is the starting product for the BIO Konjac - Glucomannan satiety powder from GSE Vertrieb. Konjac flour is obtained from the ground and dried rhizome of the konjac plant. This flour is particularly rich in glucomannan (approx. 40 %), the main ingredient of the satiety powder. A natural extraction process produces an extract with a glucomannan content of at least 85%. This high glucomannan content is important to guarantee the effectiveness of the powder.
Glucomannan has one of the highest known water-binding capacities of all natural products; it can bind up to 100 times its own mass in water. This is why it is used in diet products. Konjac extract with a high glucomannan content is usually dissolved in water and drunk before a meal. The high water-binding capacity of glucomannan causes the water in the stomach to "thicken". The result is a highly viscous liquid, which leads to a long-lasting feeling of satiety.
In its opinion of December 9, 2010, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) assessed the scientific evidence of the effectiveness of glucomannan in implementation of the Health Claims Regulation. Products with sufficient glucomannan may therefore bear the following statement: "Contributes to the reduction of body weight if at least 3 g of glucomannan is taken daily in three portions of at least 1 g each with 1-2 glasses of water before a meal by an overweight person."

Consumption recommendation:
3 x daily 1 scoop (1.2 g) before meals with plenty of liquid (1-2 glasses of water à 200 ml)A positive effect is only achieved with a daily intake of 3 g glucomannan in three portions of 1 g each in combination with 1-2 glasses of water before meals and as part of a low-calorie diet.
Warning:
Due to the proportion of swellable fiber, there is a risk of choking if the fluid intake is insufficient, especially for people with swallowing difficulties. We recommend consuming the product with plenty of water.
