Optimal care for mother and child:
Organic nutrients for pregnancy and breastfeeding
As inconspicuous as the second line on the pregnancy test may be - it turns the future upside down in the most beautiful sense. New life is created both directly and figuratively: a new person (or several) grows in the mother's body ... and the parents' lives will also be very, very different from now on.
There is a lot you can do to give your baby the best possible start. One a good supply of nutrients is an absolute must, because not only the development of the fetus is complex and demands maximum performance from the mother's body. For example, the EFSA* recommendation for the daily intake of folic acid (folate) one month before a planned pregnancy until the end of the first trimester is 400 μg instead of the usual 200 μg. The reason: folate plays a key role in all growth processes, mainly of blood, cells and genetic material. In reducing fatigue, it is ideally supported by magnesium, which also contributes to electrolyte balance and a normal muscle function and can thus provide relief from a tendency to calf cramps. Also Iron, iodine, zinc, calcium and various B vitamins are essential for mother and child - well into the breastfeeding period.
Sometimes it is difficult to get enough of these important "pregnancy vitamins" between cravings for chocolate and pickles. Sometimes there is simply not enough time to cook fresh, wholesome food. This is when targeted nutritional supplements can be useful. At GSE, we take our responsibility for the next generation very seriously. With one special feature: almost all the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients we use come from plant sources that the body recognizes as natural food and can therefore utilize ideally.
