Omega-3 from GSE: Essential fatty acids for everyone

Fats are indispensable for the body. They are needed, for example, to regulate cholesterol levels, to utilize fat-soluble vitamins and for many other functions. The chemical differences between the various types of fatty acids would go too far here. However, it is important to know that the body can produce saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids itself. So-called unsaturated fatty acids, on the other hand, must be taken in with the daily diet: They are essential. The polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids DHA, EPA and ALA are particularly important - and unfortunately far less present in food than their unfavorable "counterparts".

The heart and cholesterol balance are omega-3 fans

The two polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) make an important contribution to normal heart function, among other things. They are found almost exclusively in oily sea fish, which should be eaten at least twice a week to cover your needs. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is found, for example, in walnuts, chia seeds, rapeseed, linseed and especially perilla oil. It is a strong ally for a balanced cholesterol level. During growth, pregnancy and breastfeeding, the body generally needs more essential fatty acids. But even without these factors, we often do not consume enough DHA, EPA and ALA in this country. In this case, it can be helpful to take a high-quality dietary supplement.

DHA & EPA from organic fish oil and ALA from organic perilla oil

Omega-3 fish oil capsules from GSE contain the high-quality oil from DHA- and EPA-rich rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) from certified organic, sustainable and climate-neutral EU aquaculture. For people with a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, GSE Omega-3 Perilla Oil Capsules are suitable as a supplement to the daily diet. We chose the Asian perilla plant as a source of omega-3 for good reason: With around 60% ALA content, its seeds are an excellent source of this essential unsaturated fatty acid! The body can produce certain amounts of DHA and EPA from ALA itself through complex conversion processes. Thanks to the extremely strict organic rearing and cultivation conditions of the GSE contract partners, both products are free from undesirable residues or harmful substances.
