CitroPlus® from GSE: bioflavonoids from grapefruit seed extract
Our CitroPlus® 800 grapefruit seed extract is obtained from the seeds and peel of organically grown grapefruits. It is gently converted using a biocompliant process, which delivers a consistently high content of bioflavonoids such as hesperidin, naringin, quercetin and rutin. The total flavonoid content is 800 mg per 100 ml.
Bioflavonoids are so-called secondary plant substances from the group of polyphenols. Although they have no direct nutritional function, plants benefit from them in many ways. For example, flavonoids ward off predators, protect against UV radiation or give flowers their attractive color for pollinators (lat. flavus = yellow).

However, the body cannot produce them itself, which is why they must be taken in with the daily diet. If you eat a balanced diet with a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit and wholegrain cereals, you are already doing most things right. If this is not possible or the requirement is increased by certain life circumstances, food supplements with a standardized bioflavonoid content such as CitroPlus® 800 can be useful.
