Silicic acid from bamboo shoots:

Natural source of silicon

Silicon is a mineral that is widespread in nature. It not only forms a significant part of the earth's crust, but also has essential substance-forming functions in the human body, for example for hair and nails. Certain amounts of silicon can be found in plant foods such as whole grains (mainly oats, barley and millet), potatoes, spinach, pulses, some types of fruit and bamboo shoots. Silicic acid is the water-soluble form of silicon.

Unlike vitamin D, for example, the body cannot produce silicon itself. It must therefore be taken in with the daily diet. If the diet is rather lacking in the above-mentioned foods or an additional supply is desired, it may be possible to take a dietary supplement containing silicon.
